Freshmen Ignition Program by Focus Training
Transition to the next educational level is challenging for many students. A well-trained and active peer mentor can provide the support and guidance needed for young people to find success in high school.
What is Ignition?
The Ignition program is a research based, highly interactive and customized transition and peer mentorship program developed by FOCUS Training. It is specifically designed to make the transition of new students into Green Mountain High School a positive experience for everyone.
What do we Do?
The Ignition program utilizes consulting, training, curriculum, and support materials to successfully implement a new student orientation and peer mentorship program. At Green Mountain High School, each freshmen advisement has two upper-classmen mentors. There are several advisement periods throughout the year where the mentors will work on specific topics or activities with the freshmen.
All Green Mountain High School mentors receive specific training and resources to support freshmen.
