Freshmen English will help us become better writers and readers, as well as progress our abilities to think, argue, reason, and express ourselves using the English Language. In addition to expanding upon our grasp of the English Language in both its written and spoken form, we will also learn more about ourselves as human beings through exploring our relationships with complex texts and narratives covering the many facets of life and the human condition.
Leadership is a course that focuses primarily on Green Mountain High School, the surrounding community, and you as a student leader. The two main parts of this course—exploring your own leadership potential and helping organize school activities—is a huge commitment on your part. It will take a great deal of in-school work and even more after-school work. Remember… you get out of this class what you put into it! Admission to the Leadership class requires election into the Green Mountain High School Student Senate.
My name is Dominick Rabe, and my teaching experience varies from seventh grade to college level. I received my associate’s degree in arts from McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, Illinois; my bachelor’s degree in English Education from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois; and my master’s degree in English Education from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado. In my free time I can be found reading, spending time with my cat, Dominick, exploring the many activities Colorado has to offer, and dusting off my old Super Nintendo.
