Agricultural education envisions a world where all people value and understand the vital role of agriculture, food, fiber, and natural resource systems in advancing personal and global well-being. Agricultural Education at Green Mountain will various hands-on classes, including; Introduction to Agriculture, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Plant and Soil Science, Greenhouse and Floriculture Management, Landscape and Turf Management, Natural Resources and Wildlife Management, as well as Forestry and Fire Science
The GMHS Agricultural Education program is comprised of three integral parts:
- Classroom/Laboratory Instruction
- Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE)
- The National FFA (FFA)
Each part incorporates knowledge, lessons, and experiences from the others. The FFA Motto of “Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, and Living to Serve” is the foundation of the Ag Ed. Through this integral structure, students will be able learn an agriculture concept in class, apply it to FFA and then put it to use in a real life scenario with an SAE.
I grew up in Jeffco and graduated from Arvada West HS. I studied Agricultural Education at Colorado State University and have been working in the Ag Industry for the last few years. I enjoy 4 wheeling, camping, being outdoors, working on my farm, and cooking!
